Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari said on Wednesday that he is sending his government a request for information on the killing of a blogger who was abducted and killed by an armed group.
“The President is requesting the information of the government regarding the matter regarding the blogger, Abubakar Shekau,” Buharis office said in a statement.
Buhari told the nation on Tuesday that he had received the information and ordered the government to ensure that all the information was properly presented to him.
The President was briefed on the case on Wednesday, according to Buharia’s office.
Bucharest, Romania, is one of the world’s most populous countries with an estimated 8.5 million people.
The country has been plagued by violence over the past few years, with many reports of murders of civilians and journalists.
