The new VR app would allow users to play NFL football from anywhere in the world, with the NFL currently being played on a handful of NFL stadiums around the globe.
The app is expected to launch later this year.NFL games currently only allow for two players per team, but the virtual reality app would enable the NFL to allow for up to four players.
It would allow the league to expand its current rosters and players, as well as allow players with other sports to join the game.
According to multiple reports, the NFL is working on the virtual version of its app in partnership with VR game developer and publisher Gear VR.
The VR app could be unveiled sometime in 2018, with a new app launch in 2019.
